Services: Accessibility Audits and Design Compliance Studies
Conducted comprehensive accessibility audits including sampling of features of the built environment for interior floorspaces and common amenity areas, as well as for underground parking structures.
Accessibility audits included the Yonge Corporate Centre (3 buildings of 6 storeys each, 40,000 SF typical floor size, 650,000 SF total, underground parking), the Toronto Dominion Centre (6 towers, 23 to 56 storeys, over 4,000,000 SF total, underground parking) and the Toronto Eaton Centre office complex (3 towers, 29 to 36 storeys, 20,000 - 40,000 SF typical floor size, underground parking). Development of recommendations for accessibility upgrades, including costing.
SPH was also retained as Accessibility Consultant to advise on ongoing accessibility retrofit projects that were implemented including accessible design compliance reviews for entrance lobbies and washroom upgrades (20 Queen Street and 60 Bloor Street West), elevator upgrades (multiple property locations) and addressing accessibility issues related to fire & life safety / signage & wayfinding (multiple property locations).
