Learning about Ontario's Accessibility Standard for the Design of Public Spaces

Parks and Recreation Ontario, with support from the Government of Ontario's EnAbling Change Partnership Program, has created a Guidebook for the recreation and parks sector. The Guidebook addresses the Design of Public Spaces Standard and is intended to provide owners, managers and/or operators of municipal and not-for-profit parks, outdoor recreation facilities and amenities with a better understanding of the requirements that pertain to making these facilities accessible, and to provide promising practices that can support successful implementation. This guidebook does not include all of the technical specifications contained in the Standard. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the Standard.
