Retained by Plenary Health Care Partnerships as Accessibility Consultant to review all designs, drawings and specifications of this 1.7 million SF acute care facility, for full accessibility compliance based on Infrastructure Ontario’s requirements for DBFM projects. Affiliated with the University of Toronto, HRH is recognized for Ontario's first Centre of Excellence for laparoscopic bariatric surgery, Canada's first home nocturnal dialysis program and a major cancer program.

Project Features: 

Infrastructure Ontario provides the following highlights of the new Humber River Hospital, including:

  • Increased capacity on opening from 549 to 656 beds to meet the needs of the growing surrounding community
  • Expanding emergency services to accommodate approximately 15 per cent more visits
  • Increased specialized geriatric outpatient services, which will include clinics, therapy services, medical consultation services and emergency management services
  • Modern diagnostics equipment for detailed, accurate patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Updated infectious disease containment systems to monitor and prevent a broad range of infections
